40 Years of Service – Christopher J Holcroft
I stumbled upon a post from, AAPRSA member, LTCOL Christopher Holcroft on his facebook page today. I felt it deserved mention and transposition to our web site.
I know, from afar, that Christopher is a proud member of the Army Public Relations Service and the Army Reserve.
Forty years in any ‘job’ is a milestone and should be celebrated. Here’s Christopher’s words from his Facebook site:

A MILESTONE IN RESERVES
On Tuesday 3rd December 1974 I walked into my local Army Reserve depot at Sutherland.
I felt right at home and so began a career of military service that has lasted 40 years for me.
During my time in Reserves I have been a member of the Infantry ( 4th Battalion and 1/19 Battalion), Intelligence (2 Field Force Int Unit) and Army PR.
I rose through the ranks from a Private to a Temporary Sergeant and then from a Lieutenant to a Lieutenant Colonel.
My holidays were generally Reserve or Regular Army exercises, training troops on a war ship enroute to Bougainville, working for the United Nations in East Timor ( UNTAET) or being deployed to Iraq and the Middle East.
It’s been a wonderful experience where I have made many wonderful friends.
In the pix look for the young bloke with sunnies or the only one without a hat .. All fun.

Well done Christopher. To borrow a recent American idiom – which should (if it hasn’t already) spread to Australia – I say to you, and all our members, “Thank you for your Service”.
Well done Christopher. A great effort.
